2020 Best Nightlife Venue: The Emerald of Siam Thai Restaurant and Lounge

It took almost nine years, but The Emerald of Siam is on top.

The Thai restaurant turned concert hall-and-eatery in Richland toppled seven-time winner Joker’s for Best Entertainment Venue.

“We bring in world-class music from all over the globe,” co-owner Dara Quinn said. “And we’ve been diligent and consistent with that. It’s our main focus.”

Quinn said she and her brother, co-owner Billy Quinn, aren’t skipping beats because of COVID-19, either.

While the restaurant is still serving take-out 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Dara Quinn said the venue -- which started in 2011 -- is working to livestream performances in the near future.

She’s also considering parking-lot concerts, where attendees can listen to music while keeping their distance.

“And hopefully, this venue will survive serving excellent Thai food,” Dara Quinn said.
