2020 Best Burger: Foodies Brick & Mortar
The way you layer the ingredients on a hamburger affects the taste.
The staff at Foodies has that down to an art, according to Tri-City burger connoisseurs.
“When we came up with our menu, we decided to build burgers in multiple ways,” general manager Tony Angelo said. “How we layer the veggies, if the sauce should go on the top or the bottom. We have been able to dial that in with each burger.”
That attention to detail makes a difference to the taste buds and enhances the flavor of the burger.
Foodies offers nine different burgers. The New Yorker (two 1/3-pound patties, 1/2-pound of pastrami, swiss cheese and sauerkraut, among other things) is a favorite — but people always have one question once it arrives at the table.
“People always ask how they are they going to eat it,” Angelo said. “I tell them, one bite at a time.”
The All-American burger also checks all the boxes, and is Angelo’s favorite.
“The simplicity is what I enjoy most,” he said.
Foodies also offers burgers with bacon, mushrooms, spicy peppers and the Texan, which is served with bacon, barbecue sauce, chili and onions on grilled Texas toast.
A veggie burger also is available, as is a gluten-free bun.
“People come out of their way to eat our food,” Angelo said. “We do it right with quality food.”
