2020 Best Steakhouse: Texas Roadhouse
For eight years, Texas Roadhouse has drawn diners in with mouth-watering steaks — everything from sirloins to prime rib.
Add in the tasty side dishes, signature rolls and friendly staff, and it’s like a home-cooked meal.
“It’s food you get at grandma and grandpa’s,” said managing partner Rocky Osborne, who has been with the Kennewick establishment since Day 1. “It’s made with love. We make mashed potatoes consistently throughout the shift, we make up to 5,000 rolls a day, and we average 500 to 600 steaks a day.”
All steaks are cut in house each day. Sirloins, which come in four sizes, are the most popular cut, followed by the ribeye.
“We have people who come in to eat five times a week,” Osborne said. “It’s a home-cooked meal and someone to talk to. Our staff is incredible — they make a difference. One of our dishwashers has been here since we opened.”
The Kennewick location was the first in Washington (the Spokane location opened in January), opening in 2011. While some restaurants struggle to last a year, Texas Roadhouse is busy every night.
“We didn’t come in hoping to survive,” Osborne said. “We wanted to thrive. We give phenomenal service. I love a place that is friendly.”
Texas Roadhouse also does its part in helping the community, a lot of which flies under the radar.
“After this (coronavirus), my first goal is to do more,” Osborne said. “Seeing this makes me think about our community. We believe in taking care of the community and being part of the community.”
