2020 Best Auto Service Center: Roy’s Garage
Jason Roy’s work is his business card.
Every car that rolls into his shop in east Kennewick is tended to by him. He guarantees his work, and depends on referrals to keep his shop busy.
“I’m just a one-man show,” Roy said. “I am busy. I’m booked out at least a week. Being a mechanic is a tough field. People want a referral. Where do your neighbors take their car? They trust me, they refer me, which is the best advertisement. My last name represents the business and my reputation.”
Roy opened his shop in the fall of 2014. He is ASE certified, and offers services that include oil changes, brake work, transmission repair, suspension work, wheel alignment, and air conditioning services on an array of makes and models.
He did some commercial fleet work when he first opened, but it took time away from his regular customers.
“We do enough private work that I don’t need to do commercial work,” he said. “We do the family car. I like getting to know a family, and later seeing their kids get their first car.”
