Richland boy, 2, dies after choking incident

Richland police are investigating after a 2-year-old boy died Tuesday in a choking incident.

David Thomas Schreiber was in the care of a nanny when the boy began choking, said Capt. Mike Cobb. The toddler was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center and then to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane where he died.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner plans an autopsy but the agency declined to provide further details ahead of meeting with the boy’s family.

Cobb said he could not provide more details on the investigation.
