Kennewick police rescued five puppies, recovered a stolen Spokane truck and arrested three people on suspicion of narcotics and prostitution Wednesday.

The chain of events started when police arrived at 9:30 a.m. at the Quality Inn on Quinault Avenue, responding to reports of suspicious activity. It turned out to be a prostitution investigation, said Sgt. David Blosser.

After suspects attempted to flee, police obtained a search warrant for another room with suspicious narcotics activity. The puppies were rescued and taken by Tri-Cities Animal Shelter & Control Services.

Police received word about a red truck stolen in Spokane after Pasco police issued warnings. They found the truck at the hotel and arrested the driver, John Fisher.

Also arrested were Ashli R. McKereghan, for methamphetamine possession, and Anthony Gradney, for obstructing a public servant. Police said the three cases aren’t related. No one was injured.
