Police identify Kennewick shooting victim

Kennewick police identified the victim of Monday’s shooting as 39-year-old Martin Ibanez of Pasco.

Washington State Patrol crime scene investigators and Kennewick detectives searched for evidence on the 1500 block of West Seventh Place until early Tuesday.

Police did not release any more details about the man who reportedly arrived at the home about 1:10 p.m. and shot Ibanez with a handgun near the driveway.

The suspect took off in a white or cream-colored car, though police were not initially sure if he was a passenger or driver, Kennewick Sgt. Randy Maynard said. The man is described as a man in his 20s with a thin build.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kennewick police at 509-585-4208 or dispatch at 509-628-0333. They can also contact Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at 509-586-8477.
