Fatal semi-truck crash starts fire along Highway 17

A semi-truck crashed on Highway 17, leaving one person dead on Monday afternoon.

The crash was near the intersection with Booker Road, north of Scooteney Lake and south of Othello.

A small brush fire was started during the collision, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Brian Moore.

The WSP is asking people to stay away from the area and find different routes to reach Othello and Mesa.
