July 13 is lucky day for Kennewick family
Rheannon and Gunnar Morby are usually subdued about their shared July 13 birthday.
“I do a nice thing for her and she does a nice thing for me,” Gunnar said Wednesday.
This year, the Morbys celebrated their 22nd and 25th birthdays a little differently: they welcomed a daughter to the family.
Rheannon delivered their second child on July 13.
Daughter Raelyn Leeann arrived at 7:52 a.m. at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. She weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

new dadBig brother Jace, 2, will be the odd man out when the family birthdays roll around every year. He’ll turn 3 on Oct. 23.
“Wouldn’t it be cool if he was July 13, too?” Gunnar mused a few hours after his daughter’s arrival.
For his part, Gunnar said for a birthday gift to his wife, he’ll handle all the household chores and “be her slave.”
Little Raelyn’s birth wasn’t entirely unexpected. She was due July 10. After a routine ultrasound, Rheannon was induced July 12. Raelyn arrived the following morning.
Gunnar said mother and daughter are doing well and will be released from Kadlec in about a day.
July 13 isn’t the only coincidence. Rheannon also was born at Kadlec.
Gunnar works at Sandvik Special Metals and Rheannon is a medical transcriptionist.
