Suspect in custody after Pasco shooting
Police have a suspect in custody after a man was shot at least twice Thursday afternoon in Pasco.
The shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. in the parking lot of a brick apartment building on the 800 block of West Ruby Street, near Seventh Avenue, police said.
The victim was rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, officials said.
Initial reports stated the victim was found in an alley. Officer Ron Seltun was the first to arrive on scene, police said.
Pasco Sgt. James Vaught said the man had one gunshot wound to his chest and another to his back.
The suspect allegedly was seen running from the area.
Vaught said investigators believe the incident is gang-related.
Police, including police dog Lemon, combed the neighborhood for the suspect.
School buses were delayed by the incident, but as of 4:45 p.m., police were allowing children to be dropped off.
