Woman dies crossing Clearwater in Kennewick

A 31-year-old woman died Tuesday afternoon after she was hit by a truck as she dashed across West Clearwater Avenue near the Sterling’s restaurant in Kennewick.

Witnesses said No'elle McCaleb was not in a crosswalk when she was struck on the busy, four-lane roadway near North Johnson Street.

She was taken by ambulance to Trios Southridge hospital and died a short time later, said Kennewick police Sgt. Christian Walters.

Traffic was backed up in both directions just after 2 p.m. crash on the main Kennewick thoroughfare.

Kennewick police are still investigating. The truck driver’s name was not released.
