Head-on collision kills 2 drivers north of Pasco

An early morning head-on collision north of Pasco killed two drivers, including a 17-year-old.

Alexander West, 17, and Vitaliy Prishko, 24, died in the 6:30 am. wreck on Taylor Flats Road near West Dogwood Road.

Franklin County Sheriff Jim Raymond said it’s not clear which direction each driver was heading when one crossed the centerline on Taylor Flats south of Edwin Markham Elementary School.

They were driving about 60 mph, he said. Neither was wearing a seat belt and they died at the scene.

Raymond said this was the third wreck on Taylor Flats Road in recent months.

The road is busy with commuters and agricultural vehicles and sometimes people are impatient trying to pass slower vehicles, he said. About 8,000 vehicles a day use the road.

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies are working with the Washington State Patrol to investigate what happened.
