Former Tri-City American Mitch Fadden dies at 29
Former Tri-City Americans forward Mitch Fadden died earlier this week. He was 29.
Former Lethbridge Hurricanes teammate Mike Wuchterl told Global News that Fadden’s family found out Monday that Mitch passed away in his sleep.
No other details were available.
“Such a sad day,” former Tri-City coach Don Nachbaur said on Twitter. “One of the most talented players I have ever coached.”
The Victoria, British Columbia, native played 54 games for the Americans during the 2008-09 season, helping the team win its second consecutive U.S. Division title.
Fadden scored 35 goals with 36 assists in his time with the Americans, then added three goals and 13 assists in 10 playoff games.
Fadden began his WHL career in Seattle, then was traded to Lethbridge before landing with Tri-City.
In 340 career games, he scored 136 goals with 182 assists and a plus-57 rating.
