Is Rod Brind'Amour A Hockey Hall Of Famer? It's Complicated
Prior to Rod Brind'Amour, there were exactly three men in NHL history to captain and coach the same NHL team to a Stanley Cup championship.
The other guys – Toe Blake with the Montreal Canadiens, Cooney Weiland with the Boston Bruins and Hap Day with the Toronto Maple Leafs – did that roughly a bazillion years ago.
It has inspired a lot of debate as to whether 'Rod the Bod' belongs alongside Blake, Weiland and Day in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
