Meghan Markle Reportedly Offended By NBA Finals Seats
Meghan Markle was reportedly not happy with the NBA Finals tickets given to her husband, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.
The NBA Finals ended on Saturday night. New York topped San Antonio, 4-1, in the five-game series. Knicks star point guard Jalen Brunson was named the NBA Finals MVP, etching his name into franchise and league history.
Throughout the series, several A-list celebrities were seen in attendance, many sitting courtside - like Taylor Swift, Timothee Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Larry David, Jerry Seinfeld, Jimmy Fallon and many others.
Prince Harry, who is from the U.K., was in attendance, too. However, he was not seen sitting courtside. Instead, he was several rows back of the court.
Markle, perhaps best known in Hollywood for her role on the hit show "Suits," was offended by the NBA Finals tickets given to her husband, according to gossip columnist Rob Shuter.
Prince Harry was not sitting courtside for the Knicks' decisive Game 5 win over the Spurs in San Antonio.
'Image is everything' for Markle
"Meghan notices everything when it comes to image," a source told Shuter for his Monday, June 15 edition of the Naughty But Nice Substack.
"To her, seating is status. It's not just about watching a game - it's about who sees you watching the game."
Prince Harry was about eight rows off of the court - still extremely good seats, but not courtside. He was seen sitting next to NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
"Meghan believes Harry is one of the most recognizable men in the world. When he's sitting behind celebrities instead of beside them, she sees it as a message," the source told Shuter. "Meghan knows Prince William and Princess Kate would have been offered front-row treatment."
The Knicks, meanwhile, celebrated their first NBA championship since 1973.
