Jalen Brunson Breaks Twitter Silence After Knicks' Championship Win
Jalen Brunson accomplished his dream of capturing the NBA championship, as he led the New York Knicks to a 4-1 NBA Finals win over Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
The former Villanova Wildcats star received the NBA Finals MVP trophy for his efforts, which included an incredible 45-point performance in the championship-clinching game.
While some may have thought Brunson and company breezed through the Eastern Conference side of the postseason bracket, they still put together an impressive run, with 13-straight wins.
Ultimately, they ran into a Spurs team that was young, talented, and worn out. However, the Spurs halted the Knicks’ streak, winning Game 3 of the series, and many believed they might even things at 2-2 before heading back home.
That wasn’t the case, as Brunson was part of his team’s astounding comeback from down 29 points to defeat the Spurs at Madison Square Garden.

And since the Knicks’ third championship in franchise history is secured, the players have been partying hard and enjoying the celebration. Some may be enjoying it a bit too much, as Brunson recently fired off a tweet on X regarding his teammate.
“Somebody take Mikal’s phone,” Brunson posted on Monday.
His message poked fun at teammate Mikal Bridges, who also played alongside Brunson during their college days at Villanova. Bridges posted an Instagram Live video showing some of the NBA jerseys with player signatures he collected over the years, which were hanging in cases to display on a wall.
The first one in the video clip is his former Knicks teammate, Donte DiVincenzo, whom Bridges seemed to pretend to get choked up over while placing a hand on the framed jersey.
“My boy,” he said, before knocking on the jersey case and moving onto others in his collection.
Among them were current teammate Josh Hart, Los Angeles Lakers star Austin Reaves, and retired NBA star Vince Carter.
“I got a lot more jerseys. I swear I do,” he said in his humorous IG Live.
Most likely, Brunson was poking some fun at his teammate getting carried away with the IG Live and talking about other players. However, it was a huge moment for Brunson, too, as he had last posted on X back in March, lining up with the Knicks guard’s previous remarks that he stayed off social media during this playoff run.
It shows how committed he was to keeping his mind free of the noise and focused on achieving that significant goal, which he did, becoming a legend in New York as a Knicks champion.
