NBA Fans Annoyed By Jalen Brunson's 'Unlikable' Dad Behavior

The New York Knicks had a very likable team in 2025-26.

It's rare for the city of New York to have a team that non-New Yorkers can get behind. Everyone is used to rooting against the Yankees or the Giants. However, with this Knicks team, they were very likable.

One person, though, seemed to annoy NBA fans - Jalen Brunson's dad, Rick.

Rick Brunson, an assistant coach for the Knicks, was criticized throughout the NBA playoffs for his behavior. Fans felt that he crossed the line multiple times, getting involved in disputes and skirmishes when he shouldn't have, like this confrontation with Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox.

NBA fans have continued to be annoyed with Rick Brunson's behavior, after the Knicks won Game 5 - and the series - on Saturday night.

Fans sound off on Rick Brunson's behavior

NBA fans seem happy for the Knicks, but not really Rick Brunson.

"So annoying," one fan wrote.

"He might be a good dad but he's too involved to be an NBA assistant coach. It's crossing a line," one fan added.

"Not OK," one fan added.

"Happy for everyone except for Rick Brunson," one shared.

"Can't be happy for Rick Brunson, man. He's just too annoying," one fan added.

"Not happy for that guy. Just can't stand him," another fan added on social media on Sunday morning.

The Knicks, though, are very much happy with everything right now. They have won their first NBA championship since the 1970s. And they will look to run it back during the 2026-27 season.
