Mike Greenberg Rips 'Disgraceful' Fan Behavior During NBA Finals
Mike Greenberg is a lifelong fan of the New York Knicks, but make no mistake, he doesn't condone everything the fan base has done during this year's playoff run.
After the Knicks erased a 29-point deficit to defeat the Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, a fan chucked an object at Victor Wembanyama as he was walking back to his hotel in New York City. It was an ugly scene not just for that particular Knicks fan, but the entire fan base.
During this Thursday morning's episode of "Get Up," Greenberg called out the Knicks fans who are disrespecting and harassing San Antonio's fans and players.
"If you're throwing eggs at Victor Wembanyama and beating up people to people wearing Spurs jerseys, just know that you are a disgrace," Greenberg said. "Not just a disgrace to the city, you're a disgrace to yourself."
This is becoming an unfortunate theme for the Knicks.
The New York Police Department took 21 people into custody for their behavior at a watch party for Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The majority of the chaos unfolded at Bryant Park.
"Several fights broke out that left people with injuries as fans climbed on top of scaffolding, light poles and NYPD vehicles, according to police. Fans in the crowd also started throwing glass objects at other fans and police officers, ripping bus signs and trees out of the ground to throw as well, the NYPD said. Police said 21 people were taken into custody, eight of whom were arrested and charged and 13 of whom were released with criminal court summonses," Spectrum News reported.
Hopefully, Knicks fans behave themselves during and after Game 5 on Saturday.
