Kyle Busch's Son Praised For His Return To Racing At 11
Kyle Busch's son, Brexton, is back behind the wheel.
The 11-year-old racing driver, who is expected by many to follow in his father's footsteps and one day join the NASCAR Cup Series, returned to the sport, roughly two weeks after his dad's tragic death at 41.
Brexton Busch, one of Kyle Busch's two children, is taking part in the U.S. Legend Cars circuit. He was seen behind the wheel this week at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
"A little Shootout shakedown," the track shared.
Fans are praising Brexton Busch for getting behind the wheel so soon following his father's death. It's really hard to imagine what he's going through.
"Brexton is already back to work… kid's going places!" one fan wrote.
"Brexton, even with all the crap that happened, is already back on the tracks This kid has a bright future in NASCAR," one fan added.
"Good to see Brexton Busch back in a race car with his friends. The hole of knowledge that boy has in his program can never be filled. I have no idea the plans but I hope Kurt can and will help him. Kyle was very very involved in Brexton's racing," one fan added.
"Kid's a fighter, just like his pops! Wonderful to see him on track, especially the day of his dad's memorial. We're all rooting for your Brexton!" one fan added.
The Busch family continues to ask for privacy
The Busch family is continuing to ask for privacy in the wake of Kyle's death last month at 41.
"Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans. Throughout a career that spanned more than two decades, Kyle set records in national series wins, won championships at NASCAR's highest level and fostered the next generation of drivers as an owner in the Truck Series. His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of every age, creating the proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation.' Our thoughts are with Samantha, Brexton and Lennix, Kyle and Samantha's parents, Kurt and all of Kyle's family, Richard and Judy Childress, everyone at Richard Childress Racing, his teammates, friends and fans. NASCAR lost a giant of the sport today, far too soon.
"During this incredibly difficult time, we ask everyone to respect the family's privacy and continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Further updates will be shared as appropriate."
Our thoughts continue to be with them.
