Fever Coach Stephanie White 'Not Worried' Over New Player's Team Situation

Stephanie White has a lot of tweaks to make due to the Indiana Fever's early-season struggles. However, she's not sweating over the situation, including the performances of the team's new players.

In 2025, Indiana reached the second round of the playoffs. It was a huge achievement as the team played without Caitlin Clark, who suffered ankle, quad and groin injuries.

The superstar guard has since fully recovered, but the Fever still added key pieces in the offseason. They signed veterans Monique Billings and Myisha Hines-Allen, along with the No. 10 overall selection in the draft, Raven Johnson.

While they are still adjusting to a new system and teammates, White understands that the players will face a learning curve. During Wednesday's media availability, she stressed that she believes the roster will figure things out, particularly Billings.

"It's hard for new players, especially when they come in, to learn how to play with our big three, because they are so ball-dominant," White said. "Where do you get opportunities? How can you get opportunities? And Mo's going to come along. I'm not worried about that.

"You know, I want her to stick with the process and to control the things that she can control. You know, I think Mo is a really active defender, a really elite communicator, and a terrific rebounder. And we want her to do those things as she finds her way on the offensive end."

Billings averages 5.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in 20.1 minutes, proving that she is a good fit. The veteran, however, played a season-low eight minutes in Saturday's loss to the Portland Fire.

There's no denying that Billings is still trying to find her footing with the Fever as she navigates through the difficulties of joining a new team. However, Coach White remains confident in what the 6-foot-4 forward can bring to the table.
