Seahawks Get Kudos for Underrated Bud Clark Move

The Seattle Seahawks are coming down from the high of being Super Bowl champions, and now reality is setting in that they want to do it again but won’t have the same roster. Seattle has lost a slew of critical players, including Super Bowl MVP-winning running back Kenneth Walker III, but all hope is not lost.

In a feature out last week, Mike Sando of The Athletic names his favorite moves for each NFL franchise during the league’s offseason.

He gives the team kudos for “taking another swing on a second-round safety.”

“The Seahawks had success with 2025 second-round pick Nick Emmanwori during their Super Bowl-winning season,” he states in the feateure. “That does not guarantee similar results for 2026 second-round safety Bud Clark, but it’s looking like coach Mike Macdonald knows how to maximize personnel on defense. That increases the chances that Clark’s big-hitting style adds something to one of the NFL’s top defenses.”

At this point, it’s obvious that Macdonald knows what he’s doing, so there’s a good chance he already has a plan in mind for Clark. It was a smart pick, and seeing that Macdonald is a defensive-minded coach, it shouldn’t take long for him to work with this rookie to help enhance the Seahawks’ defense going into the 2026 season. While winning another Super Bowl won’t be easy, especially with the Los Angeles Rams loading up on star players, it’s certainly a possibility for Seattle.
