Video From Fan Who Stormed Court During NBA Finals Has Been Released

Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the Knicks and the Spurs was briefly interrupted by a fan who ran onto the court and tried to record a video. He was promptly hauled off by security. But did he at least manage to get the shot?

The answer appears to be no.

Video from the point of view of the fan who stormed onto the Frost Bank Center court to try and record a video with Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama went up on social media last night. It was only 20 seconds and in poor quality though.

Most importantly, the fan wasn't even able to capture Wemby's face in the video before getting grabbed by security.

All for Nothing

Not only is that fan probably banned for life from Spurs games and NBA games in general, he could be facing time in jail and a hefty fine from the city of San Antonio. Fans took great joy in laughing at the fan for going through all of that trouble just to fail to even get the shot he wanted:

"Damn, son didn't even really get Wemby on camera. Watching it during the game, I thought he caught the fire vid/pic of Wemby," one user remarked.

"He should get mandatory 1.5 years in jail so it can prevent future idiots from doing the same thing," wrote another.

"Banned from Spurs arena during the start of Wemby Prime for a shakey video that doesn't even capture Wemby properly gotta be one of the biggest Ls in the 21st century," a third wrote.

"Awesome way to never be allowed at an NBA game again for something no one will ever think is worth bragging about."

"Bro dropped 8 racks on tickets just to film the world's tallest human on 0.5x zoom while security yeeted him into next week. Wemby didn't even fit in frame, man's out here playing in 8K while this dude got 240p potato vision. Peak L energy."

As for Wembanyama, he admitted after the game that he's never been in the situation where someone stormed onto the court to approach him.

"I've never been in that situation," Wembanyama said. "I didn't know how to act. It really surprised me, almost as much as that time a bat crossed the court."
