NBA Investigating Spurs Fans For Behavior Towards Knicks Star Jalen Brunson

San Antonio Spurs fans don't have to love New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, but they may want to consider showing him more respect.

Brunson continued his epic postseason on Monday night by dropping 30 points in a Game 1 victory over the Spurs. His fourth-quarter heroics helped the Knicks secure their 12th straight playoff win.

"I think most importantly, knowing we're on the road, and knowing my teammates have my back, I think that's the biggest thing in an environment like this," Brunson said. "The trust they have in me and the trust I have in them, it's got us to this point. I mean, I'm very thankful for them every single night we go out there together."

Make no mistake about it, San Antonio's crowd at Frost Bank Center wasn't exactly friendly. There was a moment at the end of the game where Brunson yelled at two people sitting courtside.

"Brunson with 30 points ... having some words for somebody it looks like behind the scorer's table," ESPN announcer Mike Breen said. "Not one of the scorers, a fan."

According to Chris Haynes, the NBA will investigate this situation involving Brunson and two courtside fans. It's unclear when a final decision will be made.

"NBA is looking into two courtside fans who allegedly directed vulgar profane "flopping" remarks towards Knicks star Jalen Brunson late in Game 1 of Finals," Haynes said. "Brunson met with official Scott Foster after the game to address the fans' behavior to which the remarks continued."

Rough night for Spurs fans.

Losing the opener of the NBA Finals was already bad enough, but having your fans investigated for vulgar behavior makes things just a touch worse.

And as if things weren't bad enough, San Antonio had a fan interrupt the fourth quarter of action by running onto the court to get a selfie with Victor Wembanyama.

The Spurs are hoping Game 2 produces better results on the hardwood and in the stands.
