F1 Fans Confused After Drake Receives Kimi Raikkonen-Inspired Gift
Drake's latest album release unexpectedly created a crossover with Formula 1, but not all fans were convinced by the connection. The Canadian rapper recently received a custom ice sculpture shaped like an F1 car following the release of his new album, ICEMAN.
According to Sky Sports F1 on X, the frozen creation was inspired by the iconic ice sculpture built for the F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen nearly 20 years ago during his McLaren days.
The tribute was designed as a nod to both Drake's album title and Raikkonen's famous "Iceman" nickname. Raikkonen earned the moniker because of his calm demeanor and emotionless approach both on and off the track, becoming one of F1's most popular figures before winning the 2007 world championship with Ferrari.
Soon after, images of Drake standing beside the ice-car sculpture quickly spread across social media, sparking a wave of reactions from Formula 1 fans.
F1 Fans Were Not Sure What to Make of It
While some fans appreciated the unique crossover, many others appeared confused by the tribute. One fan praised Drake, writing: "The best to ever do it, he deserves it!" Others focused more on the Formula 1 connection itself: "It'd be hilarious if Raikkonen met Drake."

Several users questioned the purpose of the gift altogether: "Why?" Another fan jokingly referenced modern Formula 1 safety equipment, asking: "Did they make an ice halo?"
The post also sparked criticism from some followers who wondered why F1 media outlets were covering the story during a race week, stating, "Must be a slow day in the office and in Monaco." Another user added: "You know we must be approaching the Monaco GP because even Sky Sports F1 can only talk about some unknown person and not F1."
Drake x Kimi Raikkonen: An Unusual Crossover
Regardless of the mixed reactions, the tribute successfully brought Raikkonen's legendary "Iceman" nickname back into the spotlight.
Nearly two decades after the original F1 ice sculpture became associated with the former Ferrari driver, the concept has resurfaced in a completely different setting through one of the music industry's biggest stars. Whether fans loved it or questioned it, the unusual crossover ensured that Raikkonen's iconic nickname remains as recognizable as ever.
