Chet Holmgren's Girlfriend Speaks Out After Game 7 Performance

Chet Holmgren had a Game 7 to forget on Saturday night.

The Oklahoma City Thunder big man had just four points and four rebounds in a 111-103 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. OKC is going home, while San Antonio is heading to the NBA Finals. Holmgren was utterly dominated by Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in Game 7 - and for much of the series.

"At the end of the day, it's always about us trying to win a basketball game. Us as a collective, the Thunder team trying to win the basketball game. And that's what's it's always going to be," Holmgren said postgame.

Holmgren ultimately admitted that neither he nor his team were at their best.

"Down the stretch we gave ourselves a chance, we fought really hard, we just weren't able to put enough plays together to make it happen. A couple of our shots didn't go down. … We just weren't able to convert," said Holmgren. "I'm going to have to go back and watch the tape, but I feel like we were able to get to a lot of really good spots, and we moved the ball well … we just weren't able to convert enough of them into points."

But Holmgren is getting roasted by many online.

However, Holmgren's girlfriend is standing by him.

The girlfriend of the Oklahoma City Thunder star publicly backed her man on social media

Holmgren's girlfriend, Emilia Scarlett, took to her Instagram Story during Game 7, showing support for both her boyfriend and the team.

She made it clear that she's backing her boyfriend and his team, despite the crushing Game 7 loss.

The Thunder, meanwhile, are backing Holmgren, too.

"That's not all on him," Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said. "I actually thought he played his minutes pretty well. You know, I thought that run at the end of the second quarter that got us back going and cut into the (lead), I mean, he was a huge part of that in ways that may not be in the box score visibly."
