Is Bears Quarterback Caleb Williams On Cover Of Madden NFL 27?
There's serious speculation this weekend that Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will be on the cover of "Madden NFL 27." Are the rumors true though?
In June 2025, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was named the cover athlete for "Madden NFL 26." With June almost here, a photo of Williams on the cover of the iconic video game surfaced online this weekend.
As of this moment, no legitimate NFL insider has confirmed or denied that Williams is the next cover athlete for EA Sports.
On paper, Williams would be an ideal pick for "Madden NFL 27."
Williams, the No. 1 pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, had an electric sophomore season with the Bears. He set the franchise's single-season record for passing yards (3,942) while throwing 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Although the Bears came up short in the divisional round of the playoffs, Williams made some jaw-dropping plays in crunch time.
Is the Madden Curse real?
While there are plenty of fans convinced the "Madden Curse" strikes every season, it clearly doesn't apply to every cover athlete.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was just fine after gracing the cover of "Madden NFL 24." On the flip side, San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey had his season plagued by injuries after being named the cover athlete for "Madden NFL 25."
If Williams is officially named the next cover athlete for "Madden," there'll be plenty of Bears fans stressed out heading into the 2026 season.
