"I'm just feeling so excited," Robarge said. "I'm shocked about everything. It was a great competition, and it's really exciting to win."

Despite placing second at state last season and taking first place in 10 out of 12 meets this year, the senior said she was still feeling uneasy.

"I was nervous the whole time," she said. "I didn't know I was gonna win it until just my last throw. I never expected anything. I was just working hard and going through my process."

That process didn't stop even through the downpour on Monday. Kelso coach Fred Sunday said she was still outside getting her practice in.

"I'm just so happy and proud for her," he said. "Nobody's worked harder over the course of her career to better herself all year round. Once you put in the work, the hay's in the barn, and you just gotta execute what you've done all year, and that's what she did."
