Kyle Busch's Wife, Samantha, Is Being Urged To File Lawsuit

Kyle Busch's wife, Samantha Busch, is being urged to file a lawsuit in the wake of her husband's death.

The NASCAR Cup Series driver, a two-time champion, died last Thursday, May 21. He was just 41 years old. Busch died as a result of complications from pneumonia, leading to sepsis. He was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday, May 20, before dying less than 24 hours later.

Busch's official death certificate was released on Wednesday, May 27, leading to more anger from his fan base. They believe this was preventable. Doctors seem to agree.

The death certificate stated that Busch had been battling bacterial pneumonia for "days to weeks" before he died May 21 at 4:37 p.m. of natural causes. His pneumonia progressed into sepsis, which set in roughly one day before his death. The sepsis triggered disseminated intravascular coagulation, which led to hemorrhagic shock caused by severe bleeding.

"The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications," the Busch family statement read. "The Family asks for continued understanding and privacy during this difficult time."

Dr. Jesse Morse is among those who believe that Busch did not receive the right kind of treatment.

"This was a totally preventable situation. Hindsight is 2020, but ideally when he was calling for help and a 'shot' from his doctor two weeks ago. The proper protocol would've been to have him admitted to the hospital and get IV antibiotics with proper monitoring. Based on what we have heard, this was not the case, and his medical team allowed him to maintain his strenuous activities despite this ongoing infection that eventually evolved into pneumonia. The fact that he won a race less then a week before he passed away, meaning that he was still actively dealing with this infection, is nothing short of extraordinary. It shows you how good of shape he was in and also the power of the mind," he argued.

Busch's wife urged to file lawsuit

NASCAR fans believe that a lawsuit will ultimately be filed over Busch's death.

"I'm definitely expecting a lawsuit to come out of this in the near future. No way Samantha and the Busch family are going to be okay with the doctors not catching the signs," one fan wrote.

"Yep. This was preventable with appropriate treatment. And it sounds like there was a doctor involved to some extent. 😐," one fan added.

Not everyone agrees, though.

"He raced when he was sick. He probably went against their orders," another fan wrote.

"How do we even know that he went to his doctor? He called for the doctor from HMS after Watkins Glen. He may have just thought it was a cold that would go away. He was with Mario Andretti on Tuesday and did not look sick," one fan added.

Ultimately, it's just a very tragic situation. We continue to send our best to Busch's family and friends following his tragic passing.
