Thunder's Jaylin Williams ‘Surprised' by San Antonio Spurs Fans

The Western Conference Finals series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs is tied 2-2 heading into Tuesday night’s Game 5 matchup.

The two conference foes split games at each arena to open up the series. The Spurs stole Game 1 with a thrilling double-overtime victory at Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center, and the Thunder took Game 3 with a 123-108 final score at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center.

Reserve forward Jaylin Williams had his best game of the series in front of the Spurs’ home crowd in Game 3, scoring 18 points on 5 of 6 shooting from behind the 3-point arc.

Before the series returned to Oklahoma City for Game 5, Williams gave props to the fans in San Antonio.

"What surprised me actually is how loud their crowd was. I think it was really impressive,” Williams said. “It was a fun environment to play in.”

While Williams shot the lights out in Game 3, he connected on just one of his seven attempts from behind the 3-point arc in Game 4.

"We got a lot of good open shots. I’m confident in my shot. I shot terrible last game, I understand that. But if I get those same looks tonight, I'll shoot them,” Williams said.

Regardless of the outcome in Game 5, the Western Conference Finals series will return to San Antonio for a Game 6 matchup on Thursday night. There, the fans will either be cheering for their team’s playoff life or for a series-clinching victory.

Game 5 will tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
