Caitlin Clark Makes WNBA History After Late Stat Correction
The Indiana Fever lost 104-102 in overtime Friday night against the Washington Mystics, a game in which Caitlin Clark hit a game-tying three-pointer to force overtime and initially finished with 32 points, eight assists, and four rebounds.
Clark originally appeared to fall just two assists shy of making WNBA history, though there were two separate plays that many believed should have been credited as assists.
On Sunday afternoon, ahead of Indiana's matchup against the Seattle Storm, the WNBA officially issued a stat correction and awarded Clark both assists, giving her 10 for the game.
With the correction, Clark became the first player in league history to record multiple games with at least 30 points and 10 assists, which the Fever announced following the update. The first time she accomplished the feat came during her rookie season in 2024 against the Chicago Sky, when she recorded 31 points and 12 assists.

Beyond that, the Fever also revealed that Clark has now set a new WNBA record for the most career games with at least 20 points and 10 assists, with 11.
Through three games this season, Clark has scored 20, 24, and 32 points while recording at least four rebounds and seven assists in each contest.
Clark is off to a red-hot start in her third WNBA season after her sophomore campaign was derailed by injuries.
She appeared in just 13 games last year following a season-ending groin injury suffered right before the All-Star break, an injury she later admitted she is still mentally working through when it comes to fully trusting her body again.
