Vanity Fair Facing Scrutiny From WNBA Fans For A'ja Wilson Tagline

In honor of the start of the 2026 WNBA season, Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson was featured on the latest cover of Vanity Fair. Unfortunately, fans spotted an error from the accomplished magazine.

Vanity Fair shared Wilson's cover photo on social media along with this caption about her career: "Whether A'ja Wilson is lobbing three-pointers or walking the red carpet, the WNBA's four-time MVP doesn't miss. For Vanity Fair's Sports Issue, Erin Vanderhoof catches up with the queen of the court-and her king, fellow superstar Bam Adebayo."

Wilson has averaged 21.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game during her career. While there's no question the seven-time All-Star is truly one of the greats, she's not known for her 3-point shooting. In fact, she's only made 87 attempts from downtown since going pro in 2018.

With that being said, WNBA fans called out Vanity Fair for its questionable tagline about Wilson "lobbing" 3-pointers.

"A'Ja is the best player in the world- no doubt. But she has 87 three pointers in 9 WNBA seasons," one person said. "Come on now."

"Lobbing 3 pointers," a fan replied. "Tell me you've never watched a game in your life without telling me."

"Either AI wrote the copy or Vanity Fair is failing at knowing the minimum about WNBA superstar A'ja Wilson. Lobbing three's? Please," another fan commented.

"Lobbing three-pointers???? Bam Adebayo being a superstar is crazyyy???? Who wrote this mess??? This is AWFUL," a social media user wrote.

A'ja gets honest about her career.

During her in-depth interview with Vanity Fair, Wilson talked about wanting to eventually start a family.

"I would love to just dive into being a wife, being a mother," Wilson said. "Being an amazing daughter to my parents, that is always my number one goal."

For now though, Wilson is focused on dominating her competition.

"I want to prove that I'm the best," she told Vanity Fair. "That allows me to have a great trophy case. It allows me to get rings. And it allows me to just play with peace."

Wilson will be back in action this Wednesday night against the Connecticut Sun.
