Notre Dame Will Have A Peacock-Exclusive Game In 2026

While the full broadcast schedule for Notre Dame's 2026 college football schedule is still being worked on, one thing seems certain: A Peacock-exclusive game is going to be part of it.

According to Awful Announcing, an NBC Sports representative informed them that their Peacock app will continue to have one exclusive Notre Dame football game each year, including the 2026 season. The network does not yet have details on which game will be featured for 2026 though.

"We will continue to have one Peacock exclusive Notre Dame Football game each year of our agreement, including this season. We'll have more information on this year's game soon," the rep said.

One saving grace for Notre Dame fans is that the Peacock-exclusive game will not be a home game like it was for the Louisville game in 2024. Seven of Notre Dame's 12 games this coming season will be on NBC's main channel, including all six of their home games.

As far as potential options go, Purdue seems like the clear front-runner due to the storied history between the two Indiana-based football teams. Their game at Ross-Ade Stadium was also partially shown on Peacock last year.

But if NBC is looking for something new, North Carolina could be an option if only for the chance to see Bill Belichick on the sidelines again. Navy could also be an option with the game being on neutral ground. BYU can also be a sleeper.

The only game on the schedule that seems like a long shot to get the Peacock treatment is the Syracuse game in the final week of the season.

On the plus side, Notre Dame fans are going to get to enjoy a very high number of primetime games on NBC this fall. Four of their games are slated for primetime - Wisconsin (September 6), Michigan State (September 19), Miami (November 7) and SMU (November 21).

And those are just the ones that have a primetime kickoff so far. Depending on where the other five games wind up, it's not impossible that half of the Fighting Irish games this fall are played with the bright lights on.

Combine that with Notre Dame being all but assured of a College Football Playoff spot with even an above average season in 2026 and you have the recipe for a very easy viewing experience for fans this fall.
