OG Anunoby's Game 3 Status Against 76ers Gets Encouraging Update
OG Anunoby's status for Game 3 is still uncertain, but the latest update gives the Knicks at least some reason to feel hopeful. The forward has been diagnosed with a right hamstring strain and is considered day to day, which means New York has not ruled him out as the series shifts to Philadelphia.
Anunoby is listed as questionable for Friday's matchup against the 76ers, and his availability matters a lot given how important he has been this postseason. As the Knicks' second-leading scorer at 21.4 points per game, his presence could be a major factor in a game that already carries plenty of pressure.

Shams Charania confirmed the news on X saying, "New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby has been diagnosed with right hamstring strain and will be day to day, sources tell ESPN. The New York Knicks Are Comfortable With a 2-0 Lead in the Series
The timing is what makes this tricky for New York. The Knicks have momentum, a 2-0 series lead, and a group that is playing with real confidence, so any disruption to the rotation matters.
Anunoby has been one of the biggest reasons they have looked so balanced. He gives them scoring without needing the offense built around him, spaces the floor, defends multiple positions, and creates chaos with his hands. That kind of two-way impact is hard to replace, especially against a Sixers team that still has enough talent to swing a game at home.
The Knicks also have recent history telling them to be cautious. Hamstring issues can be unpredictable, and Anunoby's playoff run was affected by one last year. Even if this one is not considered serious, New York will not want to turn a short-term concern into something worse.
If he sits, the "next man up" approach becomes real immediately. Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and the bench will all have to absorb more responsibility on both ends.
For now, the Knicks can feel relieved that the update was not worse. But until Anunoby is cleared, Game 3 comes with a little extra uncertainty.
