Aaron Rodgers To Cardinals Is Not Happening, Per Report

Some interesting rumors have been floating around lately that four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers might go west and join the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, one report indicates that the rumor is a giant nothingburger.

Taking to X yesterday, ESPN staff writer Josh Weinfuss said that he spoke to a source and asked if there was any truth to the Rodgers-to-Arizona rumor. The short answer he received from his source was "not at all."

"I asked a source today if all the noise about Aaron Rodgers going to the Cardinals was real? 'Not at all' was the response. So, there's that," Weinfuss wrote.

Unable to Accept

Fans were quick to dismiss Weinfuss' reporting, with many declaring that he's been wrong about other stories recently and can't be relied on. Others pointed out that Rodgers himself doesn't even know what he's doing yet, so "sources" couldn't possibly know the truth either.

"You said the Cardinals were taking Reese in your final mock . You also said the Cardinals love Ty Simpson maybe the people you're speaking to aren't giving you the right information might need new sources," one Cardinals fan replied on X.

"If the person being asked about legitimately doesn't know what he wants to do (he's either the wishy-washiest or most manipulative guy ever - maybe both), how are sources going to know?" wrote another.

"Uhhhh…. You may want to make sure your 'source' is real since we have direct evidence of Cardinals players themselves courting Aaron Rodgers. Obviously we are going to believe actual Cardinals players over an anonymous source that likely isn't real"

Many fans have pointed out that there is a certain appeal to the Cardinals right now. They have a young head coach, a young QB Rodgers can take under his wing, minimal expectations and a few ascending stars on offense that Rodgers can quickly get to play how he likes.

The Cardinals also have close to $200 million in cap space over the next two years, so they probably won't try to nickel and dime him.

Are the Rodgers-to-Arizona rumors just wind?
