Washington Huskies women land Brooke Carlson of Colorado State
The Washington women's basketball team picked up its third transfer from the portal and nabbed guard Brooke Carlson, who committed to the Huskies.
She made the announcement Tuesday morning on her Instagram account.
The 5-foot-8 Carlson played the past two seasons at Colorado State where she received Mountain West All-Freshman team honors during the 2024-25 season and was considered a rising star.
Last season, she averaged 11.7 points, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals while starting all 35 games for the Rams, which won finished 27-8. She shot 42% from the field and 25% from three-point range.
Carlson's profile grew while averaging 19.3 points in four postseason games, including a Mountain West tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance.
She tallied a career-high 26 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals for No. 12 seed Colorado State, which suffered a 65-62 loss against No. 5 seed Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Carlson joins a talented Washington backcourt led by All-Big Ten performer Sayvia Sellers and Avery Howell, who was named All-Big Ten honorable mention last season.
On Sunday, the Huskies added North Carolina State forward Tilda Trygger and last week they picked up Oklahoma State guard Macey Huard.
Washington has 10 players signed or pledged for the 2026-27 season including returners Sellers, Howell, Brynn McGaughy, Devin Coppinger, Nina Cain, Daniella McLean and incoming freshman Amayah ‘Sunshine' Garcia.
