Letter: Show respect for laws and those who enforce them
There would be no need for the various “These Lives Matter” movements if everyone would learn to show respect for existing federal, state, and community laws and for those who are tasked with enforcing those laws. All laws in this country are based on our Constitution and were developed by elected officials or by direct vote of the people. That is the way we do things in this country.
Learning to respect laws and individuals must be taught in the home beginning at a very early age. That training is essential before kids head off to school and must be done by parents who understand the concept and importance of respect. This is a huge problem and, interestingly, one that none of our candidates for president or other offices seem to understand. This problem is the deep infrastructure (hearts and minds of people) that really needs fixing in this country.
So, ask the candidates who wish to be our leaders what they are going to do to foster respect for laws and for people in America. God, help us!
