Letter: Why name the San Bernardino murderers?

I accept that the news media has been out of control for a long time. I think that it has now run amok! Too much attention has been paid to two intellectually limited poor excuses of humanity who murdered people in San Bernardino. We have had their images inflicted on us every day since. This coverage has eclipsed the public’s right to know and incites other poor excuses to try the same thing for their two weeks of glory. Let law enforcement investigate and take care of business.

It also provides material for the mongers of fear and hatred to spread their poison to our population. They are trying to make us think that there are bloodthirsty terrorists lurking around every corner. Instead of informing the public, the media is working as the right hand of the extremists who are trying to harm us.

Would it be asking too much to have the media restrain itself and not even name them? The word perpetrator would work fine and let’s just use a picture of Alfred E. Neuman (of MAD Magazine) instead of the perps. Why would we want to give anything to those who are trying to harm us?
