Letter: Will DOJ hunt down leaks, or just play politics?
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that the Department of Justice has more than tripled the number of leak investigations and is devoting increased resources to stamping out unauthorized disclosures
Does this mean a special emphasis on disclosures of unflattering information? Or does it mean prosecuting officials that leak classified information, such as the president giving Russia’s ambassador information to identify a British intelligence source, or President Bush’s crony disclosing that Valarie Plame is (now, thanks to him, WAS) an undercover CIA agent, as retribution for her husband (former ambassador Joseph Wilson) disputing Bush’s claim that Iraq was seeking “yellowcake” in Niger?
Sessions implied he means the latter, but my guess is he really means the former. But that would be a waste of resources when we all know that any unflattering information is “fake news.” Only Breitbart can be trusted to report truthfully.
