North Star to hold community forum on recovery

The North Star initiative will hold a community forum June 30 focused on stories and conversations about recovery.

The initiative is a coalition of county and city representatives, community leaders and organizations that works to address homelessness and behavioral health issues in Skagit County.

The forum is intended to reduce the stigma of recovery and share what it can look like.

"Community members, families, individuals with lived experience, providers, employers, and local leaders are invited to learn about recovery, dispel common myths, and discover local resources and 'on-ramps' to care," reads a June 5 North Star news release.

The forum will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30 at Mount Vernon Library Commons.
