Centralia superintendent says rumor about resigning teacher is 'not accurate'

Centralia School District Superintendent Dr. Lisa Grant on Wednesday declined to comment on rumors surrounding a resigning teacher at Centralia High School.

"I'm not going to comment on that because it's not accurate," Grant said.

The Chronicle also reached out to Centralia High School Principal Scot Embrey, who directed our inquiry to Grant.

The teacher, Grant said, resigned in January. The resignation was originally to take effect in June, but the teacher recently decided to take leave for the remainder of the school year.

The rumors - which have spread quickly across social media over the last 24 hours - resulted in multiple people reaching out to The Chronicle. Among the claims were unsupported allegations the teacher had a relationship with a student.
