Mike Costas has been named the acting general manager of the Waste Treatment Completion Co. at Hanford.

He is filling in for Scott Oxenford, the company’s first general manager, who is on medical leave.

The Waste Treatment Completion Co. employs about 1,370 workers for construction, start up and commissioning of the Hanford vitrification plant.

Bechtel National, which holds the Department of Energy contract for the vitrification plant, and Bechtel’s prime subcontractor, AECOM, formed the new company, Bechtel announced in January.

Oxenford, a Bechtel employee, was named then to lead the new company.

Costas has previously served as the manager of functions for the vitrification plant, which included engineering, quality, automation, procurements, and safeguards and security, according to Bechtel.
