Work begins on Kennewick wine village
The Port of Kennewick breaks ground on the Columbia Gardens Urban Wine & Artisan Village at 11 a.m. May 9 at 421 E. Columbia Drive.
The port recently awarded a $277,000 contract to Big D’s Construction of Tri-Cities for the earthwork and to install utilities. Work begins May 9 and continues through Aug. 26.
The city of Kennewick will install streetlights and other infrastructure as well as a system to treat effluent from the proposed wineries. The port will solicit construction bids in the fall.
