Grant Co. Sheriff: Body found in lake believed to be missing Connell man
Grant County authorities believe they’ve found the body of a 65-year-old Connell man who went missing in early November.
A county sheriff’s deputy found a body Saturday morning floating in Long Lake.
The missing man, Khampheng Soumphakdy, was last seen on Nov. 2.
His unoccupied small boat was found floating on the lake early Nov. 4, and his pickup truck was parked there.
The county coroner is working to identify the body, “however, all evidence suggests Soumphakdy drowned after falling out of the boat,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
“I know Mr. Soumphakdy’s family has been struggling with his disappearance for over a month, and I hope and pray they find peace now that we believe his body has been found,” Sheriff Tom Jones said in a statement.
