Walla Walla High School teacher struck by car, killed
Walla Walla High School drama teacher Brian Senter was struck by pickup and killed Saturday night.
The collision happened just before 10 p.m. on the 1200 block of Reser Road in Walla Walla County. It’s still being investigated, but the sheriff’s office said it appears Senter was walking in the eastbound lane and was hit by a Ford Ranger pickup truck also headed east.
The pickup’s driver, Jim Kuntz, was present and cooperative at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. He showed no signs of drug or alcohol impairment and passed a breath test.
A student vigil for Senter is planned at 4 p.m. today at the high school’s performing arts auditorium.
The district’s grief program also has been activated to help students and staff, the district said in a news release.
Memorial service details are pending
