Downtown Kennewick tours start July 18

A Port of Kennewick commissioner will offer free guided historic walking tours of downtown Kennewick beginning July 18.

Commissioner Thomas Moak will talk about the background of various residences and buildings in the downtown area, a release said. The tours are part of the port’s 100th anniversary celebration.

Each tour will start at 10 a.m. on the steps of the Kennewick First United Methodist Church at 421 W. Kennewick Ave. The tours take about two hours and will travel about a mile. Tours are also available on Aug. 15, Sept. 19 and Oct. 17.

Tour groups are limited to 20 people so pre-registration is required. Visit www.portofkennewick.org to sign up. For more information, call 509-586-4093.
