Woman killed in Pasco hit and run identified

A woman who died after being struck by a sport utility vehicle Saturday night in Pasco has been identified as Juana Figueroa-Figueroa, 65.

Figueroa-Figueroa’s cause of death was listed as blunt force injury to the head and abdomen, said Michelle Genack, Benton County chief deputy corner.

The hit and run happened near the intersection of 20th Avenue and Lewis Street at about 8:45 p.m. when the victim was struck in the crosswalk, a release said.

Authorities said the vehicle left the scene and drove over the blue bridge into Kennewick. Neither the vehicle nor its driver have been located but the vehicle was described as a Ford sport utility vehicle, possibly an Explorer model, that is dark or maroon in color. It also possibly had a chrome bumper and may have damage to its headlights or windshield because of the crash.

Anyone with information about the driver or the vehicle is encouraged to call 911.

Figueroa-Figueroa’s autopsy was performed in Benton County because she was pronounced dead at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Franklin County coroner Dan Blasdel said.
