Ben Franklin Transit extends taxi service

Ben Franklin Transit is extending its night taxi service and adding Sunday taxis starting Tuesday.

It's also extending its taxi feeder service, which picks up riders in designated spots in areas where buses don't run and takes them to the nearest bus stop.

The agency's night taxi service will start at 6:30 p.m. and continue until 2 a.m. The service now runs 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The call-ahead system offers curb-to-curb service in Kennewick, Pasco, Richland and West Richland for $3 each way.

The agency also will offer Sunday service from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as taxi feeder service until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The services will all be provided by Tri-City Taxi, Ben Franklin Transit's contractor. Night service reservations can be made from 2 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on the day of travel. Sunday reservations can be made between 2-9 p.m. Saturday and after 7 a.m. Sunday for trips after 9 a.m.

To make reservations, call Tri-City Taxi at 545-0684.
