Prosser solar project ceremony planned April 26

The ribbon will be cut on the Benton PUD’s new Prosser community solar project at 9 a.m. April 26 at the intersection of Old Inland Empire Highway and North Gap Road. Tours are planned.

The $135,575 project was paid for by 42 customers who signed up for a drawing to be chosen. Customers can take advantage of financial incentives offered by the state.

The project has 88 solar panels and should generate enough electricity to provide the needs of about two average homes.
