Ulta Beauty to open near Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick

There's a new superstore in town and it's all about beauty.

The grand opening of Ulta Beauty, a hair salon and beauty product retailer, is 9 a.m. on April 6.

Ulta offers 20,000 hair, bath and body products, styling tools and merchandise from shavers to hair dryers for men and women.

"Ulta Beauty carries mass brands like those you would find in a drugstore, such as Revlon and Covergirl, as well as what we call "prestige" brands, such as Benefit, Philosophy and Urban Decay," said Merriam Mohamod, general manager for the new store.

In addition to the retail side, Ulta offers a full-service hair salon and a station where you can have your face waxed. There's also a Dermalogica MicroZone Treatment Center for mini facials, which cost $20 for a 20-minute treatment.

"Great for teenagers who have skin problems or women who want to keep their skin looking young and vibrant," she said.

Ulta also offers a rewards club.

"Our loyalty program is free and a great value. The more you shop the more you points you earn based on your spending, and four times a year you get a rewards certificate good for select products or salon services," Mohamod said.

Ulta Beauty is a nationwide chain with the next closest outlets in Union Gap, Spokane, Portland and the Seattle area.

The Tri-City store, 1321 S. Columbia Center Blvd. south of the mall next Old Country Buffett, Kennewick. will have 45 employees.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Website: www.ulta.com; 783-1083.
