Graduation season is in full swing and everyone is getting in on the pomp and circumstance. Tons of parties and celebrations are on the calendar with plenty of memories being captured with photos. Since fur babies are vital family members, our canine companions have to be a part of our pics.

These vet students wanted to commemorate their academic accomplishment with their precious pooches and got them decked out for a special photo shoot.

In the TikTok from @bernerboyz, the vet grads were coaching their canines to stay in position as they got as many pics as possible. The five dogs were different breeds ranging from Corgi to Bernese Mountain Dog, and each donned a graduation cap, complete with a gold tassel.

The fur babies seemed to feel at ease and ready for their close-up. Their spacing on the bench was perfectly placed, and each pup held their pose like a pro. Maybe they've had previous modeling experience, or they are just comfortable being in the spotlight. Regardless, their participation was clearly bringing joy to their moms on their special day.

Followers were impressed with how camera-ready the canines were during all the hubbub.

"Somehow they pose better than my high school son's soccer team," one remarked.

"They all look so proud of their moms," another noted.

"As a photographer, I am very jealous," a follower admitted.

"Wow, they are all getting their dogtorate," someone joked.

How to Get Dogs to 'Pose' for Photos

Getting your dog to sit still for a picture can be a challenge. There are a few simple steps that can help introduce your pooch to having their photo taken:

  • Start with the "sit" and "stay" commands rather than beginning with a complicated pose. Hold your hand out in front of you so they have a visual to stay put.
  • Hold a treat by your face so your dog will look toward the camera. Say "watch me" and give them a treat for positive reinforcement when their eyes are facing you and the camera.
  • Don't use a flash when introducing your dog to photo shoots - it can scare them and be irritating to their eyes.
  • Be very patient and practice. Once they get the simple poses down, you can start trying more creative ones. Follow their cues and don't push if they seem anxious or resistant.

Note: Have plenty of treats on hand - you'll be using a lot of them!

In time, your fur baby may be as photo-ready as this group of grad pups.
